I will never, ever be convinced that a CB could save me from getting into an accident. Simple truth..if you cannot see as far down the down the road as the distance it will take you to come to a complete stop, you’re going too fast for conditions. I’ve been driving in valley fog, snow and ice, and heavy rain my whole life. 100% of all accidents in those conditions related to losing control or plowing into stopped or slowing traffic is due to going to fast. 100%. Don’t need a random driver telling me the visibility is 50 feet and I shouldn’t be going 70 mph.

Well you know it certainly would be good to know what’s coming up down the road so that you have an idea what you’re going to be running into... The driver just always give a heads up to oncoming drivers about what is happening down the road so that They can be aware of and prepare for it...that’s what the CB is for

No one said that it would prevent an accident. It is a useful tool that is like an extra set of eyes and ears. It can be used for great advice and assistance or ignored all together. You sir seem to have made your choice and that is ok for you.

In my part of the world, CB chatter consists of 50% grown men complaining about “commiefornia”, and 50% grown men complaining about “libtards”. My ears literally start to bleed after listening to 5 minutes of CB land. I’ll take my chances with common sense and a lifetime experience of accident free driving, vs Bubba telling me how to get from A to B safely.

    To each his own..

It may not save you from getting into an accident. That’s YOUR job.

But it CAN help you to get AROUND one that’s already happened and may have traffic backing up fast.

Agree 100%. I wouldn’t say a CB doesn’t have uses..I do have one in my truck. Mine gets the most use in guiding me to the non-shutdown lane in case of accidents.

Hope the driver is OK in that fire, won't be much left of that truck the way it was burning.
