My brother is getting some things moved from a storage facility in Ft Worth. Not a lot of stuff. He is getting it picked up in December, held for a couple weeks them moved to Oregon. He told me that he put a deposit down with a company called "US Pro Moving and Logistics". I had never heard of them and when I checked their website it says they are not a motor carrier and own no trucks. They are a moving broker. So it seems to me that there is no way of knowing if the movers you actually get are good or a bunch of clowns. My brother said he already gave a deposit but supposedly has 10 days to change his mind.
What I want to know is have any of members with HHG knowledge ever heard of this outfit. Good? Bad?
I would appreciate any accurate info.

    So Ft. Worth to Oregon???

    Oregon is a big place.

If they were heading east toward your neck of the woods I could probably help them out, if the items weren't too monstrous.

    But not Oregon.

    Never heard of them.
    But that's not saying much.
I hardly see any big moving companies anymore,
( allied or mayflower). Don't know where they all went.

Mom and pop with a box truck might be all
    That's left.
He could have got one of those u-haul boxes they drop
In your front yard, you load it, then they throw it on a flatbed and deliver it when you need it.

Right, they get to the destination, then demand lots more money or refuse to release the load.
Sometimes it's a few hundred dollars and sometimes a few thousand dollars.

I have checked these guys out a little more now. As I said before they are not a moving company. They are a broker. They likely have a board where they post loads and have small moving companies book the loads. They seem to have no control over the practices of these companies. I checked the BBB and they have had 36 complaints. But the thing you don't see are the multitude of complaints that the guys that actually do the moving have, and to find them you would have to know the name of each company. Then I checked the FMCSA's "Search for a Registered Mover" site. Company has had 48 complaints this year.
I have convinced my brother that he is getting screwed and he is going to call and get his deposit back, or get the credit card company to stop the payment.
Hopefully it will work out. and I appreciate the replys.

They haven't gone anywhere, you still have the big 4, United, Atlas, North American and Aliied. Then the independents of which there's a plethora of them. It amazes me after all the horror stories that people will still gravitate to these no-name outfits and then are shocked when they have no recourse.

I agree, seeing as he knows I started my driving career at North American Van Lines. Lol
For what he is paying I might have rented a trailer and took the stuff up there myself.
