There's only one place in the entire country I've found that would write a 30 day policy for my state ( Arizona).
And it's very expensive.
There's a lot more depending on the state you live in.
Call OOIDA and ask them for a list of agents that write temporary policies.86scotty Thanks this. -
*but it's not likely you'll find one. About 90% of truckers would be doing this if we could.

Every time your insurance expires, you will have the hassle of reactivating your dot numbers.

Is your question more in the category of wondering if you can get commercial insurance because you only drive say 15-20 hours a week....but on a continuing basis?

This is just one thing that has kept me from buying my own truck.
I would love to be an owner op playing the spot market when rates are great but then park my truck and go fishing in mexico when the slow season hits.
I dont really want to work more than 4 to 5 months a yearrowekmr and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
Do you mean a student enrolled in a truck driving school working toward his CDL?
Or do you mean a college student who has a CDL who wants to work part time during the school year?
