Anyone know recommended oil to use in Eaton fuller 13 speed. Truck is used year around in north Dakota sits outside all winter. I know synthetic oil but what weight 50w or 90w gear lube.

I am pretty sure either weights can be used. I know 50w was put in my RTLO16713A when it was installed, swapping out a Meritor 10 speed.

50W synthetic I believe is typically used. I was told never use gear oil as it affects the synchro?

Either way, Eaton publishes pretty much everything you need to know about their transmissions and axles on their website for free access. Wouldn't hurt to burn over there and download the manual.

    Link Sharing
I hope this link sharing works. If so, go to page 10. Looks like either weight is fine. I'd use SAE 50 for fuel mileage.

You need to tap on Link Sharing. I would have thought the address would just appear. I've never tried sharing a link on my phone.

Thanks I'll try and find 50w synthetic oil and not 50w synthetic gear lube!

You may not find 50 wt at local dealers. Some time ago the fluid spec changed to 40 wt synthetic trans lube. This 40 wt is backward capatable for all Eaton manual and automated transmissions.

A5¢, spsauerland, pup and 2 others Thank this.
