I plan on using a reman DDEC 5 head I have laying around on my 12.7 DDEC 4. I have figured out evrything except the injectors, how can I go about using the n3 injectors ? Can I just change the connectors on the harness and have it work with the DDEC 4 ecm?

The DDEC4 engine is a completely different animal then a DDEC5 engine as is all the wiring, ECM's & the ECM programming. The wriring isn't "conversion" compatible. My suggestion is IF you really want a DDEC4 engine, buy a truck w/a DDEC4 engine h be happy.

So take this as vague advise. My experience stops at Ddec4. Ddec5 I have minimal experience. #5 head has one less intake bolt hole. What cam profile works with N3 inj. And #4 ecm. What tone wheel works on #5 cam with #4 ecm. I dont know all these answers. Maybe someone will. But I would be asking them. I'm all for using what you have, thinking outside the box. But I feel your asking for more issues than gain. If your not going racing, ecm, cam, injectors your gonna wanna match.

I'm willing to bet it would never work. I wouldn't even try it. Everything about a ddec5 is different then a ddec4. It's not even the electronic side of things, but injector hights and injector lobe profiles ect ect . If you want a ddec4 get a ddec4. Frankenstein engines rarely work out.
