Yes. And back in the old days, they pumped the gas, checked under the hood, cleaned the glass, gave you a gift. And many had stamps. Women loved those stamps.

Sure nice to not feel so old. Retired 13 years ago. Hauled Chicken from AR to the West Coast, produce back. A few diversions, but that was my main route, West of the Mississippi.

My memories of great places are:

Alma, AR. Can't remember the name, but I think it was branded Sinclair. Good food, where you turned north to go up 71 through the Boston Mountains.

Atoka Truck Stop. On 69. Again, great food.

Ted's in Moriarty, NM, Ashfork, AZ and Quartzsite,, AZ.

    Crazy Fred's in Kingman, AZ.

My uncle says you're thinking of Simbo's at exit 112, near Chipley. There never was a truck stop in DeFuniak Springs where the Walmart is, to
    his knowledge.

There is a sign at the White Pine, TN exit off I-81 that looks like an old Union 76 sign,
but of course, it's all blacked out. Was there a 76 there a long time ago and if so, does
    anyone have any pictures?

Do ya'll remember when a lot of the 76 stops had driver rooms you could rent for sleeping? The one close to Springfield, Mo did for sure. I got the last one for the weekend during a blizzard once. I drove across the bridge to town, bought a long drop cord, parked up close to the garage, ran my cord from the block heater to a plug on the side of the garage, hid the cord under the snow, and stayed upstairs all weekend until 44 opened back up again Monday.
