I pulled tankers before on a spring water account and would like to get back in again. Does IRT let you take the trucks home or must you park at a terminal for home time? I live about 90 or so miles from the Bensalem, PA terminal, and would rather not have to commute to the truck if at all possible.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

I think if you live within 100 miles of one of their terminals they want you to park at the terminal. I don’t know for sure. I live a few hours from their Visalia, CA terminal and leave my truck near my house or at the tank wash near me.

I would ask if you can take it home. As mentioned if you live within 100 miles they want the truck left at the terminal, but to be honest, they are so short of drivers here (especially in Bensalem) that I would be surprised if they didn't make an exception for you for the sake of 10 miles.

Don't know how I missed this. Glad you are OK and you had plenty of witnesses. I used to have a personal dashcam but it died and I haven't replaced it. I was told in orientation that if your dashcam footage exonerated you in a crash the company would give you $100 or $125 (don't remember exactly) as a bonus.

Yeah I was going to buy one on my own but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. I was stuck in Wells and Elko for almost five days. It busted the leaf spring and Ubolts and some other crap up front. And when the tow truck towed me he somehow put massive flat spots on all the drives. I was driving back to Visalia with my steering wheel upside down and the tires thumping the whole way. It was a blast.

I think the upside down steering wheel would bother me more than the tires.

They both bothered the heck out of me. Got back and switched trucks. I went from doing 75 to 65 and I feel life passing me bye. Literally and figuratively.

Just an update for those that are interested. Things are still going well here. I currently just finished a load from Washington to Florida. The miles and pay have been pretty good. Averaging about 3000 miles a week. I sit a lot at times but then they’ll keep you rolling for days doing drop and hooks, It all depends. They have gotten me home when I’ve wanted home, even had me dead head over 1000 miles to make it happen. The equipment is good. I’ve gotten used to the surge. Things are going well so far, I don’t have much else to say

They aren't shy about deadheading. On more than one occasion I have had 1000+ mile deadheads coming out of FL after home time.

Wasn't even to get a specific load, they just told me to grab an empty and head towards Indianapolis because that was a busier spot for them.

Waited a little longer than normal for a clean tank up here at the Platteville spot. Gonna cut my losses for the week and try again this weekend.
