Close call: Semi truck tires explode while trucker tries to put out flames

In alarming dash cam footage, you can see the truck driver as he actually goes under the trailer to try to fight the fire. That’s when one of the tires explodes violently.

There is a dash cam video in the link from the patrol car.

Glad to see him out of their alive. I've seen this altruistic trail sense of urgency trucker saving the life of others . Not criminal or hooligans media portray them to be . not selfish greedy, putting their lives in the line to help company succeed

He makes it to the back of the trailer and falls down. Then the next tire blows. With renewed energy he manages to get back even further...lol. I would have been busy disconnecting the trailer from the power unit.

Yeah, sorry Walmart, but if the trailer axles start on fire, I'm going to drop it on the shoulder and pull my shiny new truck away a good 50 feet before I do anything else.

Just saw a CFI on I-24 west above Nashville. Entire back end burned off of it. Seems to be a rash of failures. I pulled a moving van this year and before I got 20 miles out of town the rears were smoking. Cans had broken.

Nobody scans the gauges like they used to. Autos have made the drivers lazy

I see driver's all the time especially company driver's try and see how fast they can drive down a mountain or a long steep hill brakes catch on fire even more so if you have a leaking wheel seal. I guess it's not there truck so why would they care

Yep and our families have to share the roads with them. Looks like he accidentally hit his chicken stick ("truck feels slow hurr") and it was too late when he realized it.

I see drivers now they start their day and not even do any kind of pre-trip inspection on their equipment either...
