Nobody uses them anymore for some reason. Last time I was table to talk to a LOT of people on it at the same time was in Indianapolis over 4 years ago. Since then it's been like screaming "hello" in the middle of a literal ghost town. I don't even see or hear any shippers or receivers requiring it anymore

    Lite bug Thanks this.

I drive a different truck every day. Too much work to put a cb in and out of a truck for the few times a year that it would come in useful.

I turn mine off a lot simply because these half-tard wannabe dj's keep playing their music and singing like they're at karaoke. That and the new breed that wear these don't want anything old school like that

Likely the fact 90% of drivers dont speak English. I usually only have limited talk wIth the regulars on my Line Haul...
Now I was looking for a magnetic antennae last week and got one and it included this TRC 451 all for $30....just what I dont need but dragged it home 1CDC5684-5915-4745-A30A-3D56E9D02097.jpeg

Local guys still use radios all the time since they learn to know many of the other guys. Unfortunately there’s always some dude that can’t keep his trap shut and rambles away as long as he has any comeback whatsoever be it polite or shouted cursing. They seem determined to have the last word so I turn the volume down on them as soon as they get started.

VHF seems to be the go-to around here these days. Higher barrier to get one means (slightly) less idiots.
