Just a quick question, I'm kind of confused when people say it's hard work, exactly what do you mean? Because with the new laws out here, you cant drive over a certain speed, trucks are governed I know be ause I pay them all the time. Doesnt seem like you would get over 550 miles a day at what seems to be 63 miles per hour .
I'm just curious where the hard monotony is?
Work is work I get it,but hard work? I need an explanation.

It’s not like it’s construction work, or laying block that’s hard work. Depending on if u own your own authority, O/O, or Company driver. Sometimes it’s stressful. Long hours, tired from driving so much, the hours, figuring out how many days you got to get there, accidents, stuck in traffic, no place to park at rest areas and your running low on hours. There is a lot of reasons it’s stressful and hard work it’s just not physically hard, a lot more mental! Especially if you have a wife, kids, and you’re OTR. Missing ur wife, kids, kids activities, problems at school. The list goes on.

Averaged $1840 a week with Sherwin Williams in 2020. Monday morning to Friday afternoon. 4 nights out. Not one weekend or holiday. Assigned equipment too.

HiramKingWilliams, Redtwin and Bfr38 Thank this.

    So basically trucking?
Nothing different from any other company, so I think it might be a good switch if it really pays that good.
My only concern is the doubles, I've never pulled doubles. I've been driving for ten years pulled all kinds of singles. Maybe it's not too bad

Right now it’s .551 per hub mile plus “loading, unloading, D/H, fueling (.02 per gallon), waiting etc. essentially no free time. Or not very much at least. Pay is to complicated to explain in one short post.

Honestly, I’ve never pulled doubles either. People that has pulled them I have known loved it after they did it for a while. Just make sure you park where you can always get out. Ur not going to back them for far.

Im in the northeast, I make 1800 a week home daily run around 350 miles a day only work 8 to 10 hours a day no weekends I start at 1800 and finish around 0230 to 0330 so I don’t see why 1500 a week is hard my job is definitely not hard work but is either a drop or hook job...
