How has this blanket held up so far? The reviews state they usually fall apart fairly quick.

He doesn’t make money on everything, a bit of a myth he maintains.

I wasn’t at the truck when I posted that link. This is the exact one I ordered and it has held up very well. D97CD7AB-A388-4038-A712-5F7154A1ECCA.png

My last one on a Detroit lasted 7 years. PTP. DEI wrap. Keep the power washer off of it. I lost 100° on pyro. Foot in it pulling a hill its hard work to hit 900°.

Yes I have been extremely happy with it. Same results for me as you have experienced. The motor is dirty now because of the weather. I don’t let the truck wash clean my motor, I do it myself exactly for that reason. That pipe wrap can be eaten up quickly by a strong pressure washer.

Same thing we used on turbos in military when we rebuilt them. They work great

Did they say why? I've never heard of a disadvantage. Turbos are somewhat driven by exhaust velocity, but 99% driven by heat expansion. So you want to keep the exhaust as hot as you can. A blanket by the definition of physics can only speed up spool times. Maybe not to a noticeable degree on every application, but it certainly won't slow them down. We even ran manifold blankets on our hopped up 12-valves. Point being, you want to keep the heat inside the exhaust, where it can do work. Any radiant heat is just lost energy you aren't getting to use.
