I have not bought the TND 500 yet but I will. I own two macs and if RM decides to support Macs that will be a big selling point for me. I have been reading all the post for awhile I am very impressed with RM's commitment to making this the best GPS on the market.

I want to thank cc194217 and all the other beta testers out there, the time you guys have put into this and doing your regular job as well as taking care of all the responsibilities at home I find very impressive !

I see a TND 500 in my future thanks to the beta testers and RM.

I've been a Mac guy since 1987, and want to express an interest in RM support for it.

I'm very impressed with the support described so far, and intend to purchase before the end of the year. I've a son-in-law who uses PCs, so I could always ask him for updating help. But I would rather connect the USB cable to my Mac & take care of things.

Thanks to all for all this great information, esp Mark!

We have gotten a working work around for the Mac's. I have been testing this work around with my Mac Beta Tester. Not as pretty as hooking up to the TND Dock, but still will get you updated on the road. either an SD card or an SD adapter to USB will be needed for this update to work if your Mac will not "see" the TND 500 via an USB cable. If it does see the TND 500 via an USB cable then it would be easier...

    Thanks,
    Mark

You probably know you can load windows OS ( windows 7, Vista or XP ) into boot camp on your Mac but you wont be able to run Mac and windows at the same time. You can buy VMware Fusion and it will allow you to run both OS systems at once plus Vmware runs the Windows OS in a virtual platform so if you get a virus on the windows side you just delete Windows and reload meaning no virus damage.

I would rather not load my Windows XP on my Mac just to run the TND500 software, hopefully RM will support us Mac guys.

Hope this info helps a few Mac users !

To all the Mac users or future users... please send me an E-mail to
    rmleadbetatester at gmail

I a going to start a spreadsheet with your info so I can keep you up todate via E-Mail also, if case you miss something on the forum.

I am also going to forward your E-Mail address to Rm.

Also in your E-Mail, let me know what kind of system you have and if you have an external SD card slot or just USB slots.

If you do have a unit, will your MAC see the TND 500 via the USB cable?

    Thanks,
    Mark

To all of you who seem to expect or even demand prefection on a product.

I just purchased the 2010 MCRA. I was trying to look up a city so I went to the index. As I turned the pages I saw that some states where missing. On the back of page 241 was printed page 250. This was not the only error.

I do not bring up this story to trash any one but to point out that even in the most basic and seemingly easy things errors can occur.

It is not a matter of if an item has a problem but how the manufacturer deals with that problem.

From what I can see RM is very aggressive about insuring that problems are handled to the best of thier ability.

I think you got a bum copy.. The large goes to page 278... and I do have 241-250..

E-Mail me and I would like to replace that one with a good one.... also RM would like that one to look at..

    Thanks,
    Mark
