Non-regulated drug test

It matters how far the company that requested the drug test wants to take it. They can do nothing, report it to your psp, notify dmv, notify fmsca, or all the above

 

Non-Regulated as in someone failed a pre-employment drug screen at like McDonald's or HomeDepot, or some other such non trucking employer???

A non-regulated drug test is just that. Non regulated. All hair follicle tests and any ua test above the 5 panel test. PSP doesn't handle even regulated drug tests, DMV doesn't handle even regulated drug tests, and while FMCSA does have the Clearinghouse, there are very specific regulations that must be followed to add to it. Basically a 5 panel ua test that has followed proper procedure is all that can be added to it.

About all they can do is list it on your background check, be it a commercial service like Hirerite (dac) or just when a new company called in for a background test they could, but don't have to, mention it. They have to mention a regulated test fail, but not an unregulated one.

It's bad to fail any drug test, but it's not a show stopper like failing a regulated test would be, just much harder to get a decent job. My advice. Don't try this industry until you've been clean for a year or you will quickly not be in this industry anyway.

 

My guess would be a pre-employement hair follicle test. I'll admit it's just a guess though.
