Hi everyone,
thanks for adding me to the group. I have just bought a used 2010 International Prostar.
Cummins isx, 879k miles, all deleted, has had an inframe at 620k miles. Have been driving the truck for a couple months now and all good for now.
The previous owner told me he has replaced the turbo. I wanna make sure he did.
my question: does anybody know if this is the original turbo or did he really change it?
Prostar cummins isx new turbo?

The wise old Tootsie Pop own said the world way never know.
I never received replacement turbo that was painted.spsauerland Thanks this. -
Not sure, but v band clamp on turbo compressor outlet looks loose and that is one rusty unit that his been sitting awhile.
BoxCarKidd and pushbroom Thank this. -
From pic looks like actuator has been replaced. Looks like turbo has not. I can't see very well, but if turbo cartridge (middle unit of turbo) that the coolant line from the actuator screws into is red and not bare metal would signify that it is probably still original.
BoxCarKidd, Goodysnap, pushbroom and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oh. Good morning spsauerland!

Like mentioned, I would say the actuator has been replaced, but not the turbo. Most remans are not painted to match the engine like yours is on the intake side.
BoxCarKidd and spsauerland Thank this. -
Ok sounds good thank u guys very much for ur fast replies. It has allmost 900k miles. When does the turbo has to be replaced?
