I don’t have a trailer, so I’m totally cool with going back to Van. If I could get a load south and a load home every 14-21 days that would be fine. I don’t mind bouncing from the US to Vancouver/Toronto in the meantime; which seems to be what most guys do. There also seems to be some North/South stuff going on out of Regina.

What load board have you been using? I don't have loadlink but I look on 123 every once in awhile and there almost always something leaving Edmonton area to Manitoba or somewhere in the states for 2.00+ per mile flatbed. I see alot of $8000 loads going from slave lake to texas

I'm on at landstar so just landstar's board.
As far as other boards I have a hard time believing those rates. My past experience is they don't post rates very often if they do seldom are they the actual rate. I really have a hard time believing slave lake to Texas is paying that on the regular. Likely it is lumber, it don't pay that.

I've heard bad things about landstar, you might make enough to get by but you won't be making bank or getting in on any really good paying random loads.

I struggle at times, other times I do well. I'm out of Ontario but I do better running western Canada. There are a bunch from western Canada that do the opposite and run in and out of Ontario and Quebec a lot. I know some Canadian guys that have no problem staying busy. I find myself stuck from time to time. As for really good paying freight it is a lot of being in the right place at the right time.

I think the money is more in flatbed work out here. I've spoken with numerous flatbed super b owner operators and they make between 28-35k a month revenue and 12-18k net depending if their equipment is paid off. This is being leased onto some companies that keep them busy. I heard this from multiple sources and the figures are always the same ballpark. I have a Peterbilt and Doepker SuperB that are paid off, I'm going to start in January so I'll see just how real those numbers are.

Oh I don't doubt those numbers pulling SuperB's I don't know if that would be consistent or not.
I've hit 29000 a couple of months here pulling van. As I said before being in the right place at the right time just doesn't happen often enough for me lol.

B-trains is another scam. You basically pull two 45K loads for the price of one ! Shippers are happy and brokers are laughing at us
