I have an oddity....Eaton 13 speed manual....upshifts and downshifts fine except downshifting from high to low in 8th or 13 to 12.....seems to grind or not make the shift when you let off and reapply throttle...upshifts fine. IF you downshift from high to low in any other gear it's fine just not 8th or 13th.

    Ideas and insite?

Came to see what a 12 speed Eaton is lol.

Just on the downshift? Is the splitter acting lazy?

    Yup....working like a 12 speed ...lol.
Yah downshift from 13 to 12 only....seems lazy but i have nothing to compare it to.....all other gears seem fine though even if it is lazy. It kinda "hangs there" mid shift and if you put it back into high it goes back, doesnt like it of course but it does [if this was a car i'd say the shift fork was worn out on that side but it's not like that i beleive?]

    Well, I’m intrigued.

I had mine redone - and watched the guy do it. He’s well experienced with them.

Mine, on the odd occasions, when splitting up from 12 to 13, doesn’t want to go. Just hangs in limbo, and free revs.

I would re- oring the splitter cylinder. Sometimes they get logged with oil or just plain dry orings. Coat the rings good with the supplied Eaton grease ....its good stuff. The kits cheap and its a 30 min job if youve done it before.

Sounds like a plan....nothing to loose and all to gain.

Make sure all exhaust ports are clean, and filter regulator is clean on transmission before you do anything. If your in cold climate like half of us are this time of year, when was the last time you changed you truck air dryer? Or drained your air tanks. Small air lines always freeze first.

All of eatons books are free online. Just need model number. They have decent flow charts.
