I generally don’t work the entire weekend, but I try to make it count when I do. Mom thought I needed a new carhauler so that is what she came up with. CAB88CAC-B7BD-4783-8E36-6494C6F2F550.jpeg 72C9A9A5-DA5B-4A8B-98B3-3E92E3682742.jpeg

When I was just learning to haul cars down south, I remember being told that as long as the mirror of the car on top is near the rail, roll with it.

I had an odd bit of un needed advice Sunday. When I came out of the Loves I had a freight hauler looking at my load. He said rather passionately, you need to be careful with that load. I looked at my load and then at him and said “and why”? He said I saw you coming around the parking lot and that truck was rocking from side to side. I explained my low center of gravity and that did no good as he said “You have all the big ones up top and you may turn that over if your not careful”. I asked him how many years of Carhauling do you have? Well I never hauled cars but my Grandfather did. As politely as I could (not extremely) I told him in 33 years I have yet to turn a tractor trailer over and today was not my first Rodeo. He said I didn’t think it was, but I thought I better tell you any way. I said thank you and have a wonderful day. WTF are some people thinking?

Back top? Strap hooked under? I had to do that with this load, 2 205" on the trailer. One of those days I needed all 80'! 20201228_203239.jpg

I was loading upfitter trucks out of Quincy when a Swift of all people offered me some helpful tips.
I took into consideration he was a nice guy and just trying to help. He got pass and I let it go.
He and the other truck were part of that crew that come up out of Laredo then piggy back the trucks back down.

Does your trailer have a hard time lifting the middle post with those big buggers on there like that? Mine struggles quite a bit with 2500's loaded like that.

    BigBob410 Thanks this.

With fresh slip plate no, if the slip plate is due, I usually leave the center post up three or four holes before I put the back one on. This truck is set at 2300 PSI, I know some of our others are set a little bit lower, and they have a hell of a time
