I haven’t bought a “toy” in months! I’ve been saving :D I’m assuming you’re referring to a jack for the truck? Yeah that would’ve probably gotten me out lol didn’t think of using one for that purpose and I’m not driving around with a spare tire so it never crossed my mind

No you said something about reloading stuff for guns. Which is bass ackwards. The gun won't be with you. It won't improve the 99% of your life that is, and ought to be, making and saving cash to establish yourself. When you need to buy some tools you do it. If you have to pay for safe and legal parking you do it. Because you have enough cushion. And life gets less difficult. You don't overpay at the last minute truck stops because you can buy more and better when you are at target or advance auto or whatever. Slowly the saved dimes turn into saved dollars. Life gets even easier. You eat better because you can. You sleep better both from nerves and a better mattress. Subtly you start making even better choices. You magically start making better money. And then boom....you leave welfare express with a cash cushion and great mental outlook.
    Then you buy gun stuff...

Even though I share a lot on here I rarely speak of personal plans for the future; I’m currently in the middle of obtaining my grandpa’s property that he left and buying a car for a local driving job in March when my contract ends; I currently have $2000 saved up.

Just watched a guy dump a big metal cage on a turn. Just about took out a car. Proceeded to try and reverse back under it since it was still hanging off the back. Failed. Next he tried winching it back on. Just about dumped it off the side. Had to bring a loader over to straighten it out.

Moral of the story: no matter if you're driving 500 feet or 500 miles, SECURE YOUR LOAD!

So I just got the other trailer and the guy was like “The handles missing on the landing gear” and I’m like, “Say what now?” After using a stupid pair of pliers I said screw it and proceeded to use my hands and the dude’s like, “Man you must have strong hands!” LMAO had to strong arm a trailer 26F499FE-1574-4379-9F0C-C0A6CD6215FE.jpeg

Back when I was doing a lot of d/h, a crank handle for dollies kept in the side box was a necessity.

Know where I can even pick one up? Lol I gotta go to the terminal and will be there probably next load, so im not sure if it’s worth bothering with until I get there since they’re pretty picky about getting other people to work on their equipment... freakin went all the way to California from my house for an oil change!

Makes you wonder how many drivers have had possession of that trailer but haven't bothered to see about having a repair initiated.

That answered the next question I had. I know some companies can be really dumb about getting previously mentioned repairs done in anything resembling an efficient/timely manner.

D/H freight is great from a keep-it-moving standpoint, but man can it be frustrating to grab a trailer that has some really obvious, inconvenient issue with it that nobody bothered to say anything about. "It'll be the next driver's problem, not mine!"

If I were @HillbillyDeluxeTruck he wouldn’t think twice about taking the handle off the trailer he just dropped since it’s right next to his truck and ain’t moving until Monday, only mention it because it’s pretty humorous :biggrin_25523: “That no good sob!” Leave him a pair of pliers
