I don't know where to post this so I will ask here.

I am putting a sink in my truck. I have a small pump but me and electricity don't get along. How and where do I wire this pump to? Do I need a fuse and relay? I don't even know what a relay is....

I can do the physical part, thats a none issue. I just wired a light to shine on my American and Blue Lives Matter Flag to a cut extension cord and plugged it in and my building has yet to burn down.

Its the stuff I can't see that scares me and I just need someone to say do it this way and I can do it, and maybe a explain a bit so I can hopefully learn.

    Thanks!

RV type pump? Fuse yes and switch, relay should not be needed. You could possibly go right to the batteries.. where are you getting water and where is it draining?

Do you know how many amps the pump draws? Or watts?

With it being 5 amps no need for a relay, you will want a separate switch from the psi switch because if you run out of water or have a small leak you will be listening to it run. Wire atleast one size larger than on the pump. Dont forget grommet or wire loom anyplace the wires pass through metal same with the water lines.

Maybe other places you could hook it up but I don't know your truck, may even be able to plug it into the cigarette lighter, excuse me power point.

Yeah, no need for a relay at 5A. My main question is what happens when the inside temp goes below freezing? Or do you have a low point drian?

The system will always be drained when the truck sits over the weekend. When I sleep in it at night nothing freezes inside.

What is a "low point drain"? When the batteries drain too low? I got 6 batteries so I don't think that will happen. I will only have the switch on when I am pumping water. Then I turn it off.
