Yes I remember that run the 1st time. We have such a beautiful country most people haven't seen. I have to get to South Dakota only one I haven't been to.

I spent about 2 years with Swift. I found that getting long cross country loads as a solo driver was practically impossible. One of the main reasons I left. They are such a large operation with at least a dozen "planning zones". They pretty much run a "hub and spoke" operation. My home terminal was Phoenix. I was classified as OTR, but ran mostly Southern CA, Nevada, Utah, Colorado. Way too much So Cal!!!!! If I did get a load to Ohio for example, then I was stuck running "regional" in that neighborhood! Most of their long haul freight is "reserved" for teams and trainers, and I'm sure for their "long timers". I found all of the long haul solo miles I was looking for at Danny Herman. Best move for me. I have no intentions of going anywhere else

99% of my driving has been north east. I'll never forget going out to Cheyenne and moving frac equipment to vernal Utah. The scenery around flaming gorge Utah on Us 191 was epic

I got quite a few with May Trucking. Check out Holland Enterprises..they are known for 1500 mile plus runs. Also Shipex. Long haul is the only way to go, screw dealing with shippers and receivers every other day
Niothing like the solitary and peaceful rides out west.

To each their own. I like making $1600 a week staying close to home and dealing with customers personally.

Exactly just depends on what drivers want. I think the OP is looking for more adventure and different scenery

    Lonesome Thanks this.
