My mom had a white 1992. When she died it had 93K on it, and always dealer serviced. I already had a Bonneville, but kept it as a spare. A friend of hers kept calling me and just had to have that car. I put a high number on it to run him off, but he agreed. Later I found the gold key that goes with it, and mailed it to him. He never replied. So I called and his wife informed me he died three weeks after getting it. So sad.

You know where Enzo got his inspiration for the V-12? During WWI american pilots brought their cars with them overseas and he heard a few of them and fell in love.

A friend of mine that was totally crazy had a nice 69 SS Chevelle. He was having undue attention paid to his groin area, and when things came to a head, he floored it and hit a tree. He said it was worth it.

A few weeks ago The Wizard got his hands on a Chrysler Conquest.

Kinda explains the hype, as well as why they’ve all vanished and why even if you find one, nobody wants to touch it.

“StarQuests”(as they were colloquially known) were VERY ADVANCED for their time. Electric power steering and some had all digital instrument clusters. The 2.6 liter(big motor for that size car) turbo engine could get the car moving in a hurry when the turbo spooled up,one of the few cars that had more torque than horsepower. The engine could be labor intensive however. Some owners would swap out the 2.6 mill for the famous 4G63 2.0 liter turbo engine found in the Eclipse(and later,Lancer Evolution)for more power, less weight and better reliability,as those had multi-point fuel injection compared to the throttle body injection setup the 2.6 engine had.

When we first got our 2014 Malibu it has some electrical glitches. One was a power steering warning that disabled power. So we stop at an exit and are trying to sort it out. I went into some Mapco type store and bought some power steering fluid. My GF googled how to add it, as I could not find the place to add fluid anywhere. Well some doofus from a Chevy dealer was pointing out on Youtube where to add things, and so my GF says I found it, and pointed to the transmission fill (which is not like a regular car - they don't have dipsticks). Well I had changed the tranny fluid, so knew that was wrong. Finally we discovered it had electric steering. Boy did I feel dumb. The day is coming where you will not be able to work on your cars except for an oil change if you don't have tons of diagnostic equipment. The Chevy dealer told me that they had a Denali in there that had been stolen and stripped and they were trying to get it to run again with a fresh motor and tranny. Found out the valve body actually has a chip in it programmed to that particular vehicle and will not run unless recoded. Incredible.
