10-4. Thx. We don't or aren't able to wash truck that often. Our company won't pay for truck washes and we don't get through our yard very often. So i try an get it washed once or twice a month but it's on my dime. Normally a lot of people wouldn't pay outta their own pocket like that but i can't stand riding around in a dirty truck.

I doubt half of today's drivers even know what a diff lock is, let alone how to use it lol.

Windex the whole windshield just to get all the junk off then throw wax on, it'll take about 10 mins total

Coating the windshield works well [so wax or commercial product]...the other thing is dont leave the heater controls in "defrost" mode all the time.....only use it when you need to as the heat inside the truck will keep it thawed most of the time. By not running in defrost all the time you dont "dry out " the road spray as fast and it will give you chance to just use the wipers to remove it. Now if its ice is freezing on the windshield you will have no choice......

With spray wax you might have to go over it 2 or 3 times. Not that there's anything wrong with spray wax, you're just not "buffing" the windshield like you would with an applicator. Keep applying and wiping off until you can feel the windshield as if it were a sheet of ice. Smooth and slippery

I bought a electric heated windshield kit from these guys.....

Frost Fighter Wiper Parking Area Defrosters

haven’t installed it yet..... (now that I’m semi retired)

also nothing beats a nice aggressive set of open shoulder drive tires and full chains to go with them.....

    and full locking rears......

Solid information, thanks for it. I noticed a dust like trail coming off my trailer last night, now I know for sure it's salt.

Good to see you are still around. Solid advice as well, I will look for the spray off other car tires. Thank you very much.

    truckdriver31 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
