I’m considering a career change and have been looking into getting my class A license for a couple of months now. I currently have a M-F 8-5 full time job. Are there any schools that offer evening or weekend classes? I’d prefer to get the license on my own without having to agree to a 1-2 year contract with company. Happy to have stumbled upon this website while googling today. Appreciate any help. I’m eager to get out of the office and start my new career.

@Chinatown may have some info.
mr_no_love and Chinatown Thank this. -
Some schools do have night or weekend classes.
You'll just have to call the schools in your area and ask about that.
Several drivers on this forum got their cdl by attending weekend classes.
Many Tech schools and Community College schools have those classes.slow.rider Thanks this. -
If you change your mind or can't find a school with weekend classes, then look at Wilson Logistics for company training.

Check community college and technical schools (the public ones). It goes without saying their online info may be inaccurate. If you don't mind, post your research findings on this site.

Wilson has much more driving time than classroom time.
You're driving a truck vs. sitting in a classroom watching videos.Last edited: Jan 5, 2021
