They are common in Sweden also but not 8x2*6 with two front axles. Usually they come in 6x2*4 or 8x4*4 and in some places 8x2/*6.

    Simply, Brexit.

It's not a big problem to import stuff to UK from EU. BUT it's a big problem to export anything from UK. Generally all stuff going to Ireland (which is still part of EU) goes through UK, and it's a huge headache, lots and lots of trucks are waiting for over a week, unable to clear customs.

And if you add all covid BS that UK requires, the are not many companies willing to drive to UK (I do, but we come back empty 99,9% of time, so it's not a big deal).

    swiss truck.
they are one of largest 5axle truck markets in EU, around 1000 per year.
this one started life as 8x4 and 3rd axle was installed in france, not really cheap option, but for CH market this is acceptable. this one is fitted with spring suspension on 1,2,4,5 axle and this configuration is more common for tippers, while air suspended with rear tag axle is more common for mixers.
in CH certain roads don't allow/can't fit semi and 5axle is only option.
most of their used 5axle came here after some time. this is very short truck, wb 203inch 1-4axle.
exhaust with dpf and scr is located left, behind cab which is new option introduced in autumn of 2019. it has 2x fuel tanks located between 2-3 axle in V shape, together 100 gallons

I've always wondered why Switzerland is abbreviated as CH. Now I know.

Why is CH the Country Code for Switzerland? | Alpenwild

yes, it is extremely rare case that you will find mixer with front driven axle, i know for few 6x6 mixers, they belong to company 5km from me, they make powerlines in remote areas, norway and island mostly.
