Trying to find out the weight limits for a dump truck in Texas

    The truck has tandem rears with a drop axle.Wanting to know the max legal weight it can haul?

    Should be around 38-40,000 lbs. allowed to carry.
    Texas calculates bridge law on straight trucks as 258 Wheel base max.

    Most steers are 12500 or 15k if heavy haul. Each axle should be 17k or 34k per set of tandems. Drop axles vary in load capacity. You should be able to count your axles and have a rough estimate on your max. Also inside your door should be the Vin sticker with a gross weight.

    Also the rules for Texas are different per single axle. Texas allows 25k per single axle "IF the manufacturer allows it" .
