I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Yet...........this industry seems to be flooded with immigrants. Many of whom barely speak English, if at all. Maybe Moose can clue us in on the statutes involved. I was under the impression that you needed to speak, read and understand the english language in order to become a CDL holder in the United States. Apparently, I am wrong about that.

Well thats the rule, but no one pays attention to that stuff . As long as there are sh itheads out there that will live in a truck with 1 or 2 other guys and drive nonstop for .30 cents/mi. They will fill those seats with warm bodies.

You are right. As we have all witnessed lately, apparently laws, rules, the Constitution do not matter any more. What in the hell was I thinking!:biggrin_25523:

Relax yall. This guy clearly understands and writes english fairly well so your arguments are completely invalid. Makes you guys come off like youre prejudiced against foreigners who dont speak your language. Not a good look:biggrin_25512:

Definitely prejudiced against foreigners competing for American jobs, whether their mumblings are intelligible or not. Why does everyone bend over backwards to aid in their own replacement? Everyone here pretty much done & retired now?

I promise you don't want to go there with me. Because I don't give a single F about what anyone thinks about me.

Technically ... a company can hire someone but not engage them in work for compensation until the employee’s residence/work status for immigration is confirmed. I’ve gone through this with a couple drivers.

In 2012 Obama passed legislation that opened the doors to this. It was piggy backed on the legislation allowing Mexican trucks to cross border and to roam free in all 48 states. It was another way to send truckers jobs overseas so to speak like everything else since Nafta started. If you weren’t paying attention back then to this it is a big surprise now.
