if you save up another 10k and sign on under another company you can make it work. just pick the right truck. i would try to find an old owner operator that is selling their truck because they are retiring. i had zero class a experience bought a truck cash took loan on a trailer and got my own authority.

$10k is 1 repair bill these days.

Do you know what fuel costs? You'll probably burn $6k in fuel in the first month. Some places you might have to wait 30-90 days to get paid.

Throughout my research I've found that if I dont do my truck purchase right, don't know how to inspect the truck and don't take it to a proper mechanic for a full Dot and pre purchase inspection that my $10k can be gone right after I sign the paperwork.

Yes know how much my average fuel cost is and estimate it at $5k-$6k a month but I'll always use the higher number. Thanks!!

Even if I decide to take my truck to a company with plenty of freight and O/O friendly I should still consider other options with my money and consider to just continue on with a better job and flip my money in other avenues before I decide to jump in?

I would lease unless it's a really good deal. You'll definitely want at least 20k in reserves between cash and credit.

I would look for 400 to 500k if its in the budget . When I got my Cascadia 300 to 350 is what I looked for , of course prices on trucks is high at the moment. My truck cost me 68k , today that would cost me 75k to 80k .

Another member referred me to looking at internationals and I'm assuming prostars. What's your take on those

    Going to ruffle feathers here.

Don’t buy a truck without a dyno/blowby, full ECM dump, oil analyst of all fluids and a good mechanical inspection.

And ... a DOT inspection is the worst type of inspection, it isn’t a good enough inspection to purchase a truck, just to meet minimal standard.

Keep in mind a large percentage of trucks need a pricey dpf canister around 750 k to a million .
