    And to think, that was ahead of it’s time. Power doors weren’t available on dustbusters.

    Heck, even the “high seating” thing was ahead of it’s time. Before the days of the CUV.

    Along the PA Turpike between Blue Mountain and Carlile there’s a scrap yard on the south side. Every time I pass it I pick out a mid 80’s Mercury Cougar.

    My college ride.

    Bought it cheap and gave it away, still I kinda liked it and wouldn’t mind having another (in considerably better condition though.) All these boomers talk about matching numbers, period correct 60’s cars, but even though the 80’s are (gulp!) 40 years ago there isn’t the love for 80’s cars like there is for 60’s cars.

    On the plus side, that means I could probably find one cheap.
    On the minus side, I could spend $20k on restoration and still have a $6,000 car.

    id guess the supra trans is simply faceplated. pro stock uses a lenco style trans.

    Right. He was shown with several boxes I assume containing Tremec trannys.
