So I have to drive something like an hour down the highway with this pump and compressor on my cat walk. I have to strap it down but terrified of it coming loose. So am here for any guidance. I am a complete noob when it comes to strapping things down.

If the pump and compressor are permanently connected, meaning they are bolted together, you can use two straps. Hook the straps to your frame rail, run them where they will put some down pressure on your cargo without bending or breaking anything. Get some kind of protection for your straps from any sharp edges, some thick cardboard would work fine for this trip.

They are two separate items. They aren't connected as it appears on the picture. I was thinking of going to home depot and get these straps. I obviously don't want to spend too much money as I prob don't have too much use for the straps after transporting these items. Is this sufficient?

Yes those will be fine. Since it's two separate pieces, use two on each piece.

Do not buy the 1in. straps they are junk and will not hold it on, they have some shorter length 2in. straps that are a bit less money!

Those are ratchets, big difference between them and the 1" with the spring clamp. You can get a ratchet strap good and tight. A few miles down the highway find a place to stop and check things out Don't be surprised if you have to put a couple more clicks on them.

Assuming your cab has a rear window with the fuel transport trailers around. Take a look back every few minutes and make sure it's riding ok.
