I am afraid I might have undersold myself. Looks like the rates are in a strange dynamic. I can't keep up and should be checking them more before booking them out of my memory.

On the first leg on my next week trip I am $340 ahead

The 2nd I undersold myself by about $200. The last time I hauled something out of there, back in summer was way lower than that, $5000 would have been an outstanding rate, not just average.

Finally the 3rd one looks almost like a mistake as I booked that for $500 less than what they DAT shows for the last 15 days. But the last 15 days encompass the Holiday time and it will be in 9 days from now and who knows where the rates are going to be then. Maybe at that time, it will sell for no more than $2200 and I won't feel bad about it.

These are still good rates in absolute terms and all I need to do now is the get them done without worrying about load board hunting for the next week and a half. Generally, the purpose of pre booking is to have a peace of mind for the series of undertaken tasks and the above mosaic fits my formula so upon completion I'll have my goals achieved.

In my experience reported rates are way beneath the real numbers. If you were a broker or shipper reporting rates would report low or high?
