Never trust a man in a hat, at least I don't. I'm always wondering what there hiding or hiding from.

Do you know how to tell the difference between a cowboy's boots and a truckers boots?

The cowboy's boots have the sh-it on the outside.

I am completely bald and show off my dome everyday. When I was a young man with a receding hairline I wore a ball cap to hide it. I was hiding something.
Once I accepted the fact that I was fast becoming bald, I found a good sun block and started lathering up every morning.
When working outdoors in direct sunlight I wear a ball cap as I'm not inviting sun burn or skin cancer. I've also worn a straw hat while on the tractor.
It's those that require head covering as part of there everyday outfit and not spending a great amount of time in summer's sun that make me suspicious. Especially those that take off their hat and put it on a table at restaurants.
Honestly, who wears a hat to a restaurant for dinner.

As a hat aficionado I lament the fact that hats have gone the way of the dodo. It's getting hard to find nice hats anymore. In the old days, and to this day among cowboys, a man wears a hat. The repertoire includes a series of different hats, the dress hat, the out with the boys hat, working cattle hat, ball cap, etc. Gentlemen take their hats off when they sit down to eat.

I only ever knew one real cowboy. He grew up learning to rope, ride and rodeo. He was an actual working cowboy on King Ranch. For those who don't know, that's a ranch in South Texas that is bigger than the state of Rhode Island.
He was a cowboy there when he met my mother.
He wore 501's, pearl snap Panhandle Slims and boots everyday of his life and only wore a straw hat when he was on the tractor. Even when horse riding he went without a hat. Of course those rides were typically an hour or less.
I once asked him when I was very young where was his cowboy hat and he replied that he only wore it when he was a cowboy.
On the opposite spectrum, my wife has an uncle who wears a cowboy hat and #$@ hugging tight as all get out wranglers everyday and swears he's a real cowboy.

Impressive to be able to work there, be curious to know if your uncle-in-law could get a job there, LOL.

A little trivia for those that don't know, the King Ranch is where the upscale line of Ford truck's got their name and logo from.

The king ranch also bred the horse that was awarded the P (permanent) 1 number in the AQHA registry. Wimpy won the 1940 FT. Worth livestock show halter class, and is one of the corner stones of the breed

About the only place I don’t wear a hat is church and if I could find the right one I might wear one there. I’m almost bald on top so it keeps the sun off in summer and helps keep my head warm in winter. Spring and Fall I just wear it out of habit. I hardly feel dressed if I don’t have one on.

The perfect quote for this one...ha ha! Or should I say...Na na na na...!

That's how I feel about pants.
Yet I always get the.."Why do you always wear pants?"
Because I don't want an indecent exposure charge! Felonies really cut back on your job options.

    :)

I'm spreading humor like it's covid! My jokes won't kill you tho. Might make you sick, violent, wet your pants, split a side, bust a gut, fracture a knee if you slap it to hard, but they won't kill you. Unless I do the "Drop the 5000lb anvil on you" comedy routine.

    ;)
