So earlier I stepped out of my truck for about 30 minutes to get something to eat. I open my truck door and close it as usual, and then suddenly notice my dome light kicking on and off slowly. Also at the front of the cab there are some lights above the dash that kicked on and wouldn't go off. I killed the main switch and then my door light kicked on and wouldn't go off. Never seen anything like it in my life....its a brand new 2021 freightliner cascadia. Something to think about is the other day while in Utah I woke up to a dead truck. I kicked on the apu and it almost immediately started which is weird because if they were dead it would have taken a while to charge them I would imagine. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome cus. Sounds like a problem for the dealer.

If your truck was completely dead why did you apu start? Obviously the apu takes a lot less power to turn over but... I'd check your battery cables, make sure everything is good and tight

The apu can recharge your batteries if given enough time. It has its own battery, just like the reefer does. I looked at my cables and everything seemed tight. Tomorrow morning I'm going to check them again just to be sure. If I can't find anything maybe stop at a petro or ta and have them test the batteries? What do you guys think?

I always figured the apu was tied in with the truck batteries..I'd probably take it to the dealer for some warranty work to sort your light issues.

Well,I'm going to agree with Lester. It sure sounds like loose battery cables. I think you said " they seemed tight". Take a couple wrenches and verify that they're good and tight.JMO

On older models that happened often . The cause was almost always a windshield leaking water into the fuse panels and computers under the dash . On my 09 the horn and wipers got stuck on as well as the lights.

All the APU's I have had always used the truck's batteries, but I have only had a TK, Carrier or Dynasys...so who knows what the other brands have for sure

Just an update. The keypad that my company uses for security stopped working, which honestly is perfectly okay with me, and in return the lights stopped doing all the wonky on and off crap. Maybe there was some crossed wires and a fuse popped? Gonna see what happens over the course of the next few days.
