Each terminal has one or two approved hotels, usually within a few miles of the terminal, posted up somewhere in the dispatch office/breakroom area.. Additionally, the info is on your linehaul dispatch "app" for your phone (it's not really an app, just a website where you enter your credentials and it shows your trailer numbers/manifests/final mile directions/lodging info/gate or key codes)

That being said, estes uses CLC cards and there is a number on the back of the card that you can call if either of the approved hotels are full, and they can get you another room. (there's also a CLC app that works awesome, but once you're on the extra board for a while you start going to the same terminals and you'll be in the same hotels a lot so there's not a huge need for it, it's just real helpful at first)

As far as the brands of hotel, it's usually Choice brands (Days Inn, Comfort Inn, Clarion, Baymont, etc) There's certain ones in the midwest that are kinda no name or off brand hotels, but usually it's like a motel 6 or a super 8. What it all boils down to, is it's free for you, and it's a place to get a hot shower a bed to sleep in and a toilet to #### in hahaha. Some are better than others (Denver, Springfield MO, Atoka OK)

I only saw one bed bug in my time on the board, I would always put my duffel in the bathtub just as an OCD or whatever thing.

Check out FreightHauler87 on youtube, gives you a real good idea of what to expect.

Depends on terminal. Terminal manager sets it up. Some guys go where they want but my buddy still running board says they are cracking down on that. They have primary and secondary you can go if primary is full. Don't are nice like holiday inn or la quinta. Some are the great smell of India super 8.

Each terminal has a hotel list on wall somewhere in drivers room. Some have 3 options others have 1. I never experienced bed bugs but I've stayed in places I never went back. I'd let them charge me if it came to it. Some rooms were dirty like house keeper was lazy to vacuum corners.

I'd rather had a assigned sleeper truck over the hotel. I had carry a pillow cause the different pillows daily killed my neck. The crapper and shower is nice but so is my own truck same bed every night. I can just go lay down. Not bobtail 10 miles deal with check in and crap.

Events some times have every hotel in area full. One time I had to go 38 miles to get room.i used go some times stay where I wanted but my TM a few times called me out on it. Guess where ever your laying down if that TM watches it he emails your TM.

You rack points up though. I stayed 2 nights downtown nashville on the 19th floor of the Cambria over looking downtown for free cause I had #### ton points.

It has its perks. Run the board till you can get bid and get off asap go home make same money.

I'd take it over northeast any day. Now I don't worry about either side. Just worry what the wife is fixing for dinner everyday. I just upgraded from a 65in to a 85in tv. Been getting lot of couch time and playing games again finally!
