A truck driver is dead by his own rig after an unfortunate event in Minnesota on Friday.

The accident happened on January 8th at around 5:20 p.m. at the 36000 block of County Road 186 in Melrose Township.

According to Bring Me The News Minnesota, 32-year-old Keith D. Kingsley was working with and driving a tractor trailer while sanitizing the inside of a turkey barn when he became “entangled and trapped” in the rig’s power take off (PTO) shaft.

Kingsley was pronounced dead on scene.

The incident is still under investigation.

That's sad. I know of a lot of guys who died working with farm equipment.

My Grandad managed to keep 3 fingers from one hand after a mishap working on a hay bailer.

One arm Pete as he was called didn’t fare as well with the baler . Part time summer job I had as a youth that 60 plus old man could throw a hay bale into the barn loft from the ground with one arm .

Loose clothing needs to be avoided around rotating shafts. First rule they teach in machine shops.
Alas this is winter. Condolences to next of kin

Our woodshop teacher used to harp on this and one day got his tie caught in the wood lathe. Never lived it down.

That's what he gets for wearing a tie to woodshop class.

We were shown a safety video where a man in a factory was on a catwalk and slipped down the stairs. His wedding ring caught the handrail and skinned the finger. Nasty

The guy was a real jerk. This was back in the 60's when all teachers wore a tie. Still, for woodshop he should have tucked it into his shirt. Used to bring a thermos of coffee in every day. One day we spiked it with Exlax. He was furious. The next day he gave us a lecture and said nobody should ever touch his thermos. While pouring his next cup of coffee a golf ball rolled out. We lost it.
