Unless you get into some more specialized stuff you will probably use the auto shift trucks for your entire career. When they can get better mpg and no clutch repair costs why would any owner put you in a stick shift?
Im a girl with no auto restriction who put a few months in on a manual 10 speed truck. I can tell you that shifting a truck ABSOLUTELY does not enlarge the package between your legs. Just drive what they give you.
I have a manual restriction on my license I just got yesterday.

Mine being a newer auto crapcadia covered under a repair policy is the one to send far from home in case of my stupidity or random plastic air fittings cracking for NO GOOD REASON on the Cheyenne res....
Sure there are new off the lot manuals but rates are declining and will continue to. Newer drivers come from cars that have practically no stick shift anymore so you'd have to train them on the truck and wait for however long till they get proficient at the whole concept. While they get horrible fuel mileage.
Where's the gain?meechyaboy and BeHereNow97 Thank this. -
I did however get a 'gritty knee' from 2 months in a horribly hard clutch that took about 9 months to fully go away. So ya my love for the manual is limited.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
I fail to see how an auto gets better fuel mileage. Ratios are the same as the manual. Maybe if you're driving it like a racecar.
Coffey, God prefers Diesels and Flint1 Thank this.
