Kicking myself in the butt. I probably could've gotten them to just rent me a cheap car for the weekend and went home. Would have been a lot cheaper for them and for me as well. I wasn't planning on going home until tax time, but I see Uncle Sam has decided to postpone the beginning date to file until 2/12.

The three ring circus continues. For some reason, the assistant FM chose to Uber me from Orlando to Deland last Friday and put me in a motel up here for the weekend. But then he is off today, so the Fleet Manager and I spoke this morning before check-out time and she was totally in the dark about this, so she is now involved. Then, this afternoon, she called and asked if I would help out with some truck road tests they need to do before issuing trucks to drivers (the shop lacks a CDL licensed tech), plus they have a Freightliner without the nanny-cam that is newer than the KW if I were interested. As long as it doesn't have the nanny-cam, has an inverter and a fridge, I am down with it...she says they are talking most of the rest of the week to figure out what is up with that KW, and she says she would have a problem getting me paid for that much breakdown time. Anything...I am soooooo bored just sitting on the bed watching reruns. My back stiffens up doing a 34, it's so stiff right now, I can barely get out of bed in the morning, and I have been walking over to the Publix and Big Lots a mile down the road every day just to loosen it up.

Checked out my new(to me) truck before calling it a day to head back to the motel. A Freighliner that has only been in service a year or so, and no nanny-cam #####box in the windshield. Only issue is a missing bolt on the passenger mirror mount where the previous driver probably had the antenna stud bolted thru the top hole. Other than that, it seems like a decent truck (fingers crossed karma is in a covid coma or quarantine).
IH Truck Guy, mushroom1464, Speed_Drums and 7 others Thank this.
