Some of these replies are surprising to me, as I find WMPF a great place to be. Maybe it's just relative to which DC you work out of, I don't know.

Safety systems, big deal. Drive safely, and it isn't a problem.

Micromanagement, I haven't experienced that. I'm given a load, and I get it done. Rinse, repeat. Nobody bothers me.

Like I said, maybe it's the DC that makes the difference. I work out of Johnstown, NY 6096 on a 5/2-5/3 program, and I love it. I only work 20 days a month, and earn up to an additional 25 days off in my first year alone. Mileage averages out at 2600 a week give or take, and the accessory pay is great. My ADP is currently at $368, and I grossed $100,257 in my first calender year 2020. Add in decent benefits, employee discounts, 401k match and stock options, and what's not to like?

To each his own, I guess.

I left, and I am happier, but Walmart wasn’t a horrible gig. I had my reasons that I left, but the two big ones were sharing a sleeper truck and the onslaught of safety devices that do nothing but distract and annoy while driving. Like the lane assist that goes crazy when it senses a car two lanes away with the blinker on, or beeping and/or hitting the brakes from an overhead sign. Nothing beat coming in after my time off to a halfa**ed cleaned truck, or a new stain on the mattress, sometimes with an overdue PM or dash light on. At our DC at least, I grew tired of reporting it as nothing ever happened.
What is sad is Walmart could literally be a dream job if they changed only a couple things, t at least in my opinion, those are things that I couldn’t take anymore after two years. If they ever decide to let “the best of the best” truck drivers actually drive again without a computer trying to intervene, and spend a couple more bucks and treat the drivers with respect and give them their own truck, I’d definitely come back, but that will never happen. Instead they’d rather take a job that used to be for the Elite driver and lower standards to drivers with Auto only exemptions on their license. I really feel bad for the guys that have 15 plus years in and have to see what has happened to the fleet the fought hard to get into and we’re once proud to work for. Most of the senior guys that ran out of my DC were disgusted with what the fleet has become and were just biding their time until retirement.

Their was a WM Driver that went by the name "Trainer James" on youtube, he made quite a few videos about WM pay, on boarding, etc. Now he has a youtube video telling everyone he`s not working there anymore. I wonder if WM got onto him about making videos & let him go.

I agree with what you said. I’m also on a 5/2-5/3 at my DC and love it. My ADP is just under yours and for what I work and what I do, it’s easy money lol.

Can’t beat the PTO, work schedule and the fact that they let you call the shots...driving or not driving in bad weather, when you want to go home on your go home day etc.....

May not be for everyone but I’m sure happy here, so’s my wife and kids so that’s a win I’m my book.
