For you guys that acid wash ur aluminum

Leaving the acid on for a few minutes is bad.

A quick spray and rinse won't hurt.

I used muriatic acid on my 78 Buick. Worked really good on the rust.

 

I dunno man, I’m a firm believer about doing an acid job before a sand and polish. Really clean the surface off.

Again, acid, sand and polish. Not just acid and run....haha

 

Same thing goes with using the brightener inside reefers . It looks like a new floor until the holes appear early in the trailers life .

 

I was looking at ways to bring the shine back to my wheels, being I don't have a buffer, nor can I afford one lol while my truck was getting PM'ed I was trying to polish the wheels by hand. My boss at the time came over with a bucket and told me to stand back. He brushed the wheel twice with acid, then sprayed it off and polished it for literally 1 minute, here's before and after

It turned out awesome, but it takes a lot of upkeep to keep that shine

 

Painted tanks and chrome wheels,,,much easier.

 

A little off topic here, but it appears that you passenger side of the frame has more rust than the driver side. You can tell that you spend more time on a slow lane of a highway .

 

My tanks are behind the fairings and I put new dura brights on a couple years ago because I got tired of being robbed by polishers.

 

No it's cause there's an oil leak on the driver's side LOL
