They did. I'm sure they still do. I never asked a professional outfit to sign one because they knew the risks implied and very seldom would put you in a bad spot. That's what pumps are for.
If the load was going to a home-owner I always had them sign. They're the ones that want you to back in over a curb or a lawn or across a septic field and expect no damage will occur. The release also covers who pays the towing bill when you get stuck.
    CYA...always.

We had a truck die with 6 yards in it. It took about 3 weeks to clean it. I am a women but I am probably the best at cleaning out trucks.

Of course they sign but we always had another truck with thick ropes instead of chains that would come and pull you out.

Our contracts always stated that if you leave the road it is the contractor's or homeowner's responsibility. Once they wave you in, it's on them. But we always called for another of our trucks to pull us out.

I am a woman, the only one working for this company. Everyone else was on a commercial pour , easy #### on a Saturday. My batch man sent me to two home owners, #### jobs. But they each gave me $5 so I guess I made out. Then when I got back I was sent on last load and the pump truck needed to wash out so I got in another 2 hours of overtime to get him water to wash out! Screw them ########.

Honestly if you could stand driving the trucks with 10-11 ish liter motors, de optioned as could be, I honestly think being a ready mix driver is one of the best gigs as far as construction truck drivers goes.
