Before 2004 everyone ran recaps. If you burnt up your 70 in 5 days, you would have to sit for 2-3 days until you got some hours coming back. Which was ok if you were home or someplace you liked when you ran out of hours. I got pretty good at being able to predict just where on a run that I would be when my hours got short. I would normally get somewhere decent, then take a day off to let my hours catch up rather than driving when I only had a few hours available to drive.
Of course back then, some guys would just buy another log book. Saying was, "70 cents will buy you another 70 hrs". Lol.
I never ran 2 books myself. One would keep me confused enough at times.

I can't say around 2004, but I started my first log books at about 6-7yo in the summers with my dad and grandpa (took turns out riding with both). When I started driving myself where a logbook was really required I typically had infinite hours by running averages, but like most guys back then I never drove when I didn't feel fit. The e-logs have the benefit of your company never asking for you to push a little extra, but they also can leave you driving at a time when a little more rest would be beneficial.

Now in other news, I'm on day 2 of a major prednisone regiment (90mg 2x daily) for my shoulder. It's freeing up movement, but I'm also having to abuse it since we are moving my mom from a 2nd floor apartment to first floor.

Yea, but those who can run 2 shifters (barely in my case), shouldn't get overly rattled to begin with. I prefer the clean classic m-img-1034.jpg

It would appear we may be driving into a squall.

I’m late to all the colon talk. We have family history of colon cancer. I had blood in stool at 34. Had colonoscopy and they removed polyp. It was cancerous. Don’t wait till the “suggested age” to get one done. And don’t be one of those guys who won’t have anything put up there. It’s better than a colostomy bag......or death.

The fellow in Vermont that was going to give me work contacted me yesterday. The truck he got for me is still being serviced. I told him I wish we could work something out. Alas I realise the freight we have in the North East doesnt pay that well. Yet if he found something more my area where I could be closer to the wife? I would take him up on his offer. He laughed, tried to set me up in a Pete for long haul. I laughed and said I was still a cheap date and would be afraid to scrape the paint on it. We both lol'd and the conversation went dead.
