Most of the pro polishers I see online just sand then cut and polish.

The only time I’ve seen a guy want acid before polishing there was no sanding involved. Acid then straight to a one step cut. That’s the only time I’ve paid a “pro” to polish my tanks and wheels.

When I got home I sanded, cut, and polished my tanks. They came out drastically better, and it was my first time doing it.

All our new KW's come with Dura Brites, we'll see how they hold up through a winter of magchloride

I have enough to do keeping my truck up. I'm going to run the Alcoas until I can't stand em and then break out the black Plasti-dip.

How long does the Plasti-dip last?

I’ve seen some cool car and pickup plasti-dip jobs

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

They do just fine. It's not quite the same smooth shine as polished, but they look good. Been thru 3 winters with mine.

It's surprisingly tough stuff. The beauty of it is it melts to itself so you can just touch it up if you aren't too picky about how it lays. It does leave an obvious spot if you touch it up. Best advice I can give is grab a can at Walmart for $4 and play around with it.

I've done lots of personal stuff with it but putting it on a work truck would be the real test of how tough it is.

    D.Tibbitt and staceydude Thank this.
