I wish you the best. Not everyone is cut out to be a business owner and there's nothing wrong with that. At least you tried and now you know.

There's millions of people that are cut out to be business owners, who's legs are being knocked out from underneath them right now.

The damage being done is incalculable...

You tried, which is more than we can say for a lot of drivers out there, and given the global situation right now, you're not alone. Failures are a part of life, just learn what you can from this situation and move on.

I can tell you that in my 2019 brand new truck, the initial lease term was 2 years. I completed my lease and did a lease extension of 18 months of which I have 11 months left and with a balloon payment of 20 grand I'll have the title. 3.5 years to ownership isn't too bad. When I was at JCT it was 5 years. The payments are pretty hefty though so be prepared to work.

T.Rucker, JOHNQPUBLIC and Cat sdp Thank this.

Been a long time since my lease purchase days. Figured I'd drop in to give you guys a status update.

Personally I feel I've grown a lot over the past couple years. My family and I are doing better than ever, planning baby #2 later this year.

Professionally, after leaving Schneider I ran OTR with Crete for a couple months out of Salt Lake. Then I applied for and landed an LTL job with Old Dominion Freight Line. As a linehaul driver it's no touch freight, just terminal to terminal and home every night.

I'm taking home significantly more than I ever hoped to with Schneider. So much that it made enough financial sense to sell my house in AZ, move back to CA, and we bought a brand new house last year.

Freight has been slow though, so now I'm running team for OD between OKC and SoCal. Home 2 days a week. Not totally ideal, but the goal is to get into a day cab SoCal-Phoenix run that pays $140k+.

Sometimes I miss doing lease purchase, but now nothing is more important to me than the time I spend with my wife and daughter. Hope everyone here keeps those tires to the pavement, drive safe
