Prime says I must lease right out of school

Which, if that's the case, it screams even louder to stay away.

 

I think you are 100% correct with this assessment.
I also think thats 100% a sleezebag move and they should not be doing that.
If they know they cant make money with a driver because of location, why are they willing to set someone up to fail instead?
This is highly immoral and speaks volumes about Prime and the industry in general.

 

They like to force leases because many rookie drivers fail in leases, the company then pockets a good portion of the money you paid into the lease. Then the company turns around and leases that same truck to someone else and the whole process begins again. Many times companies make more money off leaseing a truck than it does from the frieght that truck pulls.

DON'T DO A LEASE!!!!!

 

If a company has a majority of ex company trucks in their owner operator fleet verses guys that brought on their own trucks, take that as a sign that it doesn't pay off.

 

Tell prime to get bent and find something better, which shouldn't be hard...

 

Well, if you're a new CDL holder with no experience it certainly can be...

 

There are plenty of starter companies out there.
The industry has been dumbed down to a point where anyone can drive a truck.

 

Sadly this is very true. Experience doesn't really pay off like it used to. Most local ltl companies now have training programs. Used to be 5 years at most, some would let you on with 3 if you got lucky.

I don’t believe cr england does that with new drivers any more and are more cautious about doing it at all, I could be mistaken, of course, but it’s what I’ve been told by other drivers in cr england.
