If everything is paid off and your authority is already in place and you have money for breakdowns or buying a trailer if you need to or whatever just do it your fine.

 

I have a 2001 Cornbinder on my farm policy. Liability is about $1,000 a year. It just sits there until I need a rescue truck, then I can leave with it even without having to wait for the agent to wake up and put a binder on it. Only other thing it does is shuttle a trailer to the shop or haul some hay for the neighbors.

 

Yours is right in line with mine from progressive 4800 for the year. I thought it was too cheap (blew my mind) considering what I see others paying. I'm reactivating my authority (inactive since 17). I count my blessings

How can you tell any thing by simply looking at load boards? The majority of the loads on there don’t show the rates or are you looking at volume of loads?And no I don’t think you’re numbers reflect reality staying within 300 with no kind of a relationship with any brokers will be tough in the beginning depending on where you live and you would really need to load out and back 300 miles a day at 2.20 a mile is only $660 a day again you could probably do better then 2.20 a mile on a 300 mile trip but again depends on where you live.And loading 300 out and 300 back a day isn’t going to be easy to find starting out..that’s just the beginning $4000 a year for liability and cargo is hard to believe

 

He said he was in ohio just west of pittsburg. If theres any place u could do 300 mile radius with a flatbed and run off load boards , thats the place to be

The Debbie downers are everywhere. Looks like you have it figured out so go for it. If you don’t see it working in 12 months pull the plug. The most you’d be out is the insurance even if you didn’t turn a mile.
