Don't know what the prices are for flats. As my wife says write down pros and cons of each and then drive yourself crazy trying to figure out which is the best way to go.
Sorry but can't help much on this

If you can swing it a new or used would be good. Then hopefully you can put your curtainside on it and replace curtain.
Crazytrucker77 Thanks this. -
@Crazytrucker77 thx for posting your numbers. One thing I don't understand in your business model is your truck expense. What I mean by that is you're leasing a truck to the tune of $2500 a month but you're still responsible for the maintenance and repairs? Maybe I'm reading that wrong?
I think there are full service lease that are about $3000 a month and the truck is under warranty and maintenance is paid for.
Just some food for thought.
p.s. What is a OR mileage tax?Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
You are reading it correctly. Nobody in my area offers a full maintenance lease to a single truck operation. I looked into that last year. OR milage tax is Oregon milage tax. They don't participate in the IFTA program. They charge a per mile tax of .225 cpm. -
popcorn169 and REO6205 Thank this.

I really appreciate the devotion of the original poster and his professional look ahead to making wise choices for his family time, and seeking wisdom from senior drivers in the field? Good luck to you on your endeavors I think your off to good start, and I hope Im as successful as you someday?
Now to "Mr road tech" Thanks for the insight into the industry and the jewels of wisdom you have to offer? Im new to the transportation coming from the construction industry for 38 years. Just want to see what options are available to me someone like me? I really enjoy reading about what other drivers think about different types of freight to haul is best, and what pays the bills? Thanks again! -
That wasn't to bad for a mistake. It could have been more.
Crazytrucker77 Thanks this. -
January's numbers. Not to bad considering all the time off for the holidays.
