Does It Feel Like The Market is Loosening Up?

South east loosened a lot last week. West coast fairly loose. Southwest was still decent. North east same. Midwest was still rolling. On our trucks were still getting big rates but on the broker side people are being more reasonable rather then throwing crazy numbers out and expecting to get them. Still high high rates though.

 

I can speak and cuss fluently in English, I can cuss and know enough Asian and Spanish to get my face slapped or ### kicked depending on the situation.

 

I forgot, do you only do reefer or vans also?

 

Both. Used to do about 85/15 van but it’s kinda changed to about 65/35 van/reefer but I also probably run about 35% haz. So , pretty big mixed bag. I don’t haul any produce though.

 

Last 2 weeks were really strong for me still and already booked pretty solid on rates for this week but I get the feeling things are starting to go downhill.

 

I saw some video today from CA showing dozens and dozens of container ships all stacked up trying to port. Interesting.

 

Three languages spoken and a fourth that was lost along the way.

 

I see port newark daily heading over the bridge into Bayonne and there's been more ships moored than usual

Yet another week at about 2.75 all miles. What I'm noticing is that the posted rates are lower but I'm still having good luck negotiating up.
