Headed out to Asheville, NC from Hagerstown, Md. in the morning. Probably 81S. Just checking to see if anybody has made this run recently and how you went and approximate time it took you. Looks like I81 to I26 to I40. Stop is on Amboy Rd. In Asheville. Thanks.

Best plan good on resting place.
    There’s a TA outside Asheville at Chandler... that’s..well it’s a place.
Then there is a 6 or so pull off/rest area.
My hidey hope parking area... well I’ll say it, pilot at waynesville, not to good, small fuel stop near it, holds like 10 trucks.
I always went on to Saluda, but that’s on down 26 passed the coops, so just plan accordingly those fuel stops fill fast over there.
Used to be a good place to eat at Radford VA, haven’t been there in years though.

be around 450 miles 7-7.5 hours depending on how fast and how much weight you got

Be careful when you get to that complete cluster____s that are the intersections of I-26/I-240/Patton Ave.

I run down 26 over the mountain from TN to NC and down thru Asheville every day currently. Mind your manners crossing the mountain as it’s been pretty heavily patrolled last few days. There’s a very nice welcome center on 26 in NC about the 7.5mm that would put you roughly 20-25 minutes out from your drop. Next options would be past your delivery

I 26E on the NC side has a good sized rest area. 1/2 way down mtn

15 miles east on of Ashville on I-26 is Mountain energy truck stop

exit 44 take rt.hwy 25, go down about a 1/2 mile or so on rt at a light w/ Mc D's and Bojangles. parking on right or left.

Even including the Rockies that is one of my favorite stretches of road in the country. I live near Knoxville and still don't get to take it often enough because I'm usually headed out/back on 81 or 40 so I just pass it all the time. That rest area is great too.
