    Hello everyone,
I am needing help with a swap we are doing in our shop. We had a 2014 PETE 579 come in with a seized ISX15 engine and the customer decided to swap for a X15. We completed swap and truck starts and runs good with the ECM from the original engine(ISX15). Now the problem we are having is the new engine’s ECM(X15) will not communicate with CCU. The cruise control, eng brake, or the cluster do not work. Now when the original ecm from the ISX15 is put on the X15 everything works good. They are both cm2350 but the ECM templates are not interchangeable. Any idea how we can get the new ECM to work? Thanks in advance to all replies

When ever I'm going to swap engines such as this. I always check what is involved with the electronics. I did mine with a dec3 to a dec4 12.7. The dec 4 computer wouldn't not work with the CCu so I used dec3 no issues. You have to more than likely get a harness adpater to match up with pins in ecm to CCu. I sure someone will direct as to where you can get it from. All the best

I would get ahold of Cummins. Should be able to put the old calibration file in the new ECM. This would be the easiest resolution I would think. You will need a fleet count. Pray that its compatible with the newer ECM part number.

Problem you will also have is that the X15 is a true down spon engine.

    The ISX15 is not

Print out the parameters off the old engine and manually enter them into the new one.

Already did that. Still the same. I ran the truck all day and everything works perfect with the ISX ecm. Going to send it for a trip and see what it comes back with.
