While I haven’t had anything too tough in a long time the only place I’ve felt sorry for yard dogs was the Cummins place in Memphis. upload_2021-1-14_17-49-19.png
They had mercy on me and gave me an end door. Watching them get trailers into those middle spots was a sight.

    And it's CUMMINS, ironically enough...

Domino sugar in Baltimore, MD----That place was built for the smaller tractor-trailers in the 30s and 40s. It was the only place i ever backed into where just driving forward out of the loading dock without hitting anything was challenging.

I have only been there once, and it was all the way back in 2013. But i will never forget that place!

Our drivers raise hell about going there. From what I hear, God forbid you have to back a pup between two 53s.

Believe it or not, Lyndonville Vermont. I don't pull a 53' van very often, and this dock was next to impossible to hit perfectly. Where the little white car is sitting in the parking lot, there's the barrier next to it. On the other side of the barrier is the dock. Where the van is sitting across the street is where the front of my tractor was once I was finally backed in. Took me 8 tries and I eventually had to angle it, drop the trailer, re-hook and back in. Many many moons ago, there was a place that made front end assemblies in North Carolina.. when you left the place, you drove to the rear of the yard... into a small space.. and a large fork lift would lift the rear of your trailer and "scoot" it around as you drove out.. that was some weird stuff!

Long time ago I had to drive onto a zip line campground type of place somewhere in Arkansas. The road going to the place was not found on any map or gps, my boss drew a path on a paper napkin for me to take. When I get a few miles along the path there was this open metal gate I was going through and it suddenly closes on me while halfway through, pinning my truck.

There was no cel service out there so I had to send a qualcom message to try and get help. Ended up stuck there over an hour in the grip of that thing.

I can't remember the name of the place but it was fresh flowersin NJ. Back in off the street, 4 lanes, back down a single lane, walled in. "S" curve drive to do a 45 to the dock. Four wheeler's would pull in behind you and honk at you to get out of their way. Sadly you had to wake your team partner to walk down the driveway with a baseball bat behind the trailer to convince the 4 wheeler's they could back up or get screwed. Fun times!

all docks give less than an inch on each side (cement sides all the way down), it’s like backing into a almost pitch black tunnel up to your mirrors if pulling a 40’

too easy to bust a wheel
