I drove one of those on-guard Freightliners that used to slam on the brakes approaching some overpasses. Frustrating to say the least...

It sucks, that a company like Schaeffer hires a guy, who wants to run, then gives him sub par equipment to deal with. Issues like SSB had to deal with should have been handled in about an hour, getting him a truck with no issues, not assigning trucks that are still in the shop, or have worse problems than the one you're turning in. And they wonder why drivers get PO'ed, and move on....

Just the joy of working for another mega carrier. They don’t care either way. If he leaves there will be 5 more wanting his truck next week.
Aamcotrans, Bumper and 650cat425 Thank this. -

I just got placed in a 2021 freightliner when I went on hometime. Tho my alarm is not loud it does go off when passing a off or on ramp, which I guess is due to the line on the side disappearing.
However, the cruise needs some work. It won't shift to 12 gear till I'm at 61 mph so it's constantly changing from 12 to 11 and back with the slightest slow down. Also when cresting a hill it will drop 10 mph till it kicks back on. Watched it drop to 55 mph in neutral till it fired back up. Other than that it runs pretty smooth.Lonesome Thanks this. -
